Sponsorship Terms

These terms govern the purchase of sponsorships on Build My Startup (the “Site”). By completing a purchase you accept them. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy.

2. What you buy

The Site shows a virtual 3D office. Each of its 33 objects (each a “Slot”) can be sponsored once. By buying a Slot you purchase an advertising service: we display your brand (logo, company name, and where available website link, colour and slogan) on that object in the virtual office, on your public sponsor page, and in the Site’s sponsor listings and feed, in the way described on the product page.

A sponsorship is not an investment, loan, donation, crowdfunding contribution, security or financial product. It gives no equity, shares, voting rights, profit participation or any other right in the operator or in any other company. The €100,000 total shown on the Site is a commercial goal of this project.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in euro on each product page. Prices are final: VAT is not applied, as the seller operates under the Italian flat-rate scheme (regime forfettario, art. 1, paragraphs 54–89, Law no. 190/2014). The price charged is always the one stored on our servers at the moment of checkout. Payment is made through Stripe Checkout with the payment methods it offers. Stripe sends the payment receipt to the e-mail you provide; an invoice is issued where required by law.

4. How a purchase works

1. You choose an available Slot, upload your logo and fill in your details. The 3D preview is indicative.
2. When you start checkout the Slot is reserved for you for a limited time.
3. The contract is concluded when Stripe confirms your payment. If the payment fails or the reservation expires, the Slot is released and no contract is concluded.
4. If a payment is confirmed after the reservation expired and the Slot was meanwhile sold to someone else, you are refunded in full.
5. Your branding is reviewed (section 5). Once approved, the object is installed in the office and becomes visible to everyone.

5. Your content and our review

You declare that you own, or are authorised to use, the brand, logo, name, website and texts you submit, and that they do not infringe third-party rights or the law. You hold us harmless from claims arising from your content.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce and display your content on the Site and in materials that show the Site (for example screenshots and videos of the office, including on social media) for the duration of the sponsorship.

We may refuse content that is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, sexual, violent, misleading, political or religious propaganda, related to gambling, weapons, tobacco or adult services, or that infringes third-party rights. If your branding is refused, we will ask for an alternative; if none is acceptable, we refund the full price and the Slot becomes available again.

6. Duration of the display

Each sponsored object stays displayed for at least 24 months from installation. We may temporarily suspend a display for maintenance, legal reasons or if your content becomes non-compliant. If we close the Site before the minimum period ends for reasons not attributable to you, we refund the price pro rata for the remaining months.

7. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

Sponsorships are intended for businesses and professionals. If you are a consumer under Italian Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code), you may withdraw within 14 days of the purchase without giving a reason by writing to amministrazione@leggefaidate.it. By asking us to install your sponsorship before the end of that period you expressly request that performance begin, and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed (art. 59(1)(a)). If you withdraw after installation has started, you pay an amount proportionate to the service provided until withdrawal.

8. Refunds

Refunds are made through Stripe to the original payment method, normally within 14 days. Situations that give rise to a full refund: rejected branding with no acceptable alternative, a late payment for a Slot already sold, or a valid withdrawal under section 7.

9. Liability

We provide the Site with reasonable care but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific traffic, views, sales or any other commercial result. To the extent permitted by law, our liability towards business customers is limited to the price paid for the Slot. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or rights that consumers have under mandatory law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version accepted at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the court of their place of residence has jurisdiction and the mandatory protections of their country of residence remain unaffected. For business customers the courts of Florence (Firenze), Italy have exclusive jurisdiction.
